High pressure pumps
Carag developed a unique high pressure pump as a single use medical device. It is used with the debritom+ wound debridement system by our customer Medaxis.
The pump has a patented poka-yoke function to interlock with the drive unit debritom+. In the blister, the pistons are in a parking position to ensure proper sterilization and prevent fatigue of the seal during shelf life. At initial insertion of the pump, the pistons are moved into the cylinder for proper operation.

The design is optimized for costs, manufacturing and automation, resulting in a high real net output ratio with custom designed valves.
Industrialization was achieved in close collaboration with the customer, and employs state of the art laser penetration welding and 100% valve testing.
The development resulted in multiple patent families for our customer.
